God, The Musician of all musicians!
God recently blessed me with a unique experience. I was invited to give a class on worship & praise via Zoom to a room full of pastors and their wives in a state in the southern coastal region of India. I am only slightly aware of some of the persecutions and difficulties these pastors and their wives endure to preach the Good News in their villages. However, I do realize that there is persecution there beyond anything I’ve ever needed to face personally myself here in the US.
I taught on Monday about how God is The Greatest Musician and how He is a creative God. We read from Zephaniah 3:17 (TLV) that says, “ADONAI your God is in your midst—a mighty Savior! He will delight over you with joy. He will quiet you with His love. He will dance for joy over you with singing.’ Had you noticed this verse before? Who is it doing the dancing in this Scripture, and who is doing the singing?
Our God is not only the Creator, He is also our God who dances, sings, composes, and is creative. I love this perspective of viewing God as not only Creator but also as Artist! Later in the message I shared the seven Hebrew words for worship & praise and about how many of these words are associated with particular body movements. For example, the Hebrew word “barach” (to bless/ worship) also means “to kneel.” As I shared this, the pastors began kneeling during the class, and I knelt too. All the while, the pastor who leads the group translated what I was teaching into Telugu, a language particular to that region of India. At the beginning and end of the class, I led worship & praise songs that we sang together from two different regions of the planet. What a special night!
The pastors and pastors’ wives
were so blessed by Greg’s teaching on worship last night. They were truly introduced to a much bigger, creative Almighty God. They all really loved your presentation and the definitions opened up their understanding of our Amazing God! Thank you, thank you Greg for such an excellent teaching,
as well as the beautiful songs, and the Hebrew component.Karin Haley
I suppose the biggest thing I would like to share with you is how blessed I feel to be able to have this experience of sharing and connecting with this community – from here in Tucson, Arizona on a Monday night (which is Tuesday morning for them). May God continue to strengthen and equip these pastors and their wives as they proclaim the Good News of Yeshua to their people. Amen?
Thank you again for your prayers and support. You are helping our ministry reach people with Yeshua’s love and lead people into His Presence through worship & praise of His Holy Name.
YOUTH WORSHIP CAMP 2024
This summer, I look forward to leading another Youth Worship Camp in Tucson, Arizona. The theme for this year’s camp is “New Thing,” from Isaiah 43. This camp is designed for children and teens ages seven to seventeen years who enjoy music and musical expression as worship to God. Each day will be filled with games, singing, dancing, playing instruments, Bible lessons and lots of fun. There are host homes available for families or groups traveling from out of the area. Registration is going on now at betterworshipleader.com! Don’t miss out on this amazing, impactful opportunity! Also, check out this highlight video from last summer.
